If HL2 was ready to be released for holiday 2003, why does it take so much time get it ready? I understand there are some parts of the code that has to be rewritten because of the source leak, but this summer seems to be more than enough time to do it. I think that there is more to the delay than they say. Maybe ATI is planning to get a new graphic card out this summer and made a deal with valve to delay the game even more, since they didn't sell enough XT's as expected. Its been a while since ATI hasn't released a new card with major changes. Anyway, if this is how it is, well know in may, at E3.

I doubt it. I just think there was more things undone with HL2 that Valve was willing to admit. If they needed the time then it's a good thing they did.

Mr-Fusion: That was a good read, it gives you alot of confidense in Valve.

ATI sold record numbers of their cards, most resellers were out of stock towards the end of last year, yet there were plenty of nVidia cards for sale.

Are you sure they needed to rewrite parts of the game because of the leak? People have been saying this but I'm not sure where they are getting their info.

they prolly did need to re-write a few parts of the code...
they prolly also want to get more awards at this years E3 convention :D...
too bad i aint 18 so i dont get the privelages of viewing hl2 :(
