I faced away from a too-important-to-kill npc, fired a rocket and wheeled round setting my laser target between their eyes?

Errr.... I don't understand... (dribble flowing out of my mouth)

You would restart from your last save point. :O

I don't know, thats why we have Valve to figure out those situations :)
They know people will try to kill important npcs, they've got it figured out. Unless its like the first, which sucked. *DIE GMAN!!!*

god i hated totaly nuking the gman and he would just walk away

Maybe something like what happens in op4 when you kill the drill sargent. :E

they would eat the rocket and fart fire at you and you would die. this is obviously how valve will handle it.

I think he wants to know if he can scare the NPCs
Note that he didnt say he would actually pull the trigger..

Dont be expecting too much,. I bet they'll be very trusting of Gordon..

It would be pretty sweet if Gordon had socializing functions like in Fable...

Press Shift-F1 to scowl
Shift-F2 to laugh maniacally
Shift-F3 to grab Alyx's butt..
etc

Lol, yeah that's what happened to me too.

If you bind the left arrow key to turn left. Then fire a rocket and press the left arrow key. You will spin in circles and the rocket will spin around in circles forever. Theres no timer. Infinite rocket fuel!! Or maybe the rockets are solar powered. lol.

we have yet to see what happens when you kill a "too-important-to-kill" npc - i think it'd rock if the plot was open-ended enough that you would have to just keep playing, and there would be a way to finish the game anyways...tho that's probably not the case...

subject: Gordon Freeman
status: sitting alone in kleiners lab unable to get any teleporters to beam him out...zzzz...
