Someone mentioned in a previous thread something about Half Life 1, Opposing Force, Blue Shift, and *Decay*.

Now I have played the first three games but never heard of the last one. Is that a mod or have I missed Half Life 1 3/4?

No...it's not a mod...

It's a two player cooperative game set in an entirely new campaign based on the original story.....

edit: PS2

a playstation-only mod

I remember Blue Shift first came out with the playstation version of Half Life, but was later released for the PC as well... Did Decay also come along with Blue Shift and HL or was that another version of HL?

I missed that game. What was it about?

Ok in HL you are Freeman and you shoot your way out of Black Mesa..

In OF you are Shepherd and you are soldier sent to Black Mesa to contain the alien invasion...

In BS you are Barney Calhoun and you also shoot your way out of Black Mesa....

How about in Decay?

Blue shift was never released on PS2 Odysseus, it was originally meant to be released for dreamcats but when that sunk into oblivion they released it on PC.

Decay was a cooperative game, it wasnt bad...butnto good either.

Oh really? Umm so that's why I completely missed Decay, I thought Blue Shift was the game that came along with the playstation version of Half Life =)

So Decay is cooperative, and what else? Does it tell something new about the story?

In Decay you play as the two women that delivered the sample to the lab. They then work to set the satellite up, and then stop the cascade from keeping going.

That sounds like a lot of fun!!!
maybe I can rent the Playstation 2 version at BlockBuster :)

There seem to be a number of interesting details in Decay (that I've worked out by glancing at a walk through... perhaps I'll try and get a copy one day). The HEV suits that Gina and the other Sci-Lady get are the ones that are missing when Gordon gets his in HL1. You see Gina moving the sample towards the test chamber in Blue Shift... Also, I believe Dr Rosenberg (the guy you escape with in Blue Shift) is in Decay. It'd be neat if Decay ended up on the PC one day (Via Steam - Blue Shift is rumoured to be heading there eventually), but I suppose that wouldn't be a top priority for Valve right now...

Oops I don't remember how long it took me to finish Blue Shift so that doesn't tell me a lot. I remember it was very short though (no wonder it came with a free copy of Opposing Force.
