What's this sign?

It looks like a circuit. The letters V, I, and R stand for Voltage, Current, and Resistance in that order.

And next to the R is a squigly line, which is the drawn notation for a resistor. It's definitely a circuit. Nice find. :)

I just made an interesting note from Mediocrity’s post. We have been talking about the stuff on the walls as from "What the Resistance" meant, despite the fact that it was just someone at Valve making it. So maybe we should try to find the pun in our world that one of the Valve graphics artists implied.

That R kinda looks like a D that the paint ran on, maybe it was some joke about everyone leaving ID's games for Valves.

I doubt it.

Lister and Rimmer in one thread! Anyone know why there would be circit graffitti? Unless some rebel had an obsession with circuits.

also take note that valve didn't model anything that they didn't have to or want to because of the time limit they had after the leak. So odds are it does infact mean something to valve. While most of the other markings in the game have something to do directly with the game I can't seem to understand what they would mean with this marking.

Also where did you find that exactly lister? I'd like to look around the area that that was at.

It looks like it's either in Route Canal or Water Hazard. Maybe there's a crazy rebel who's into electronics like Father Gregori is into religion.

Like remember that part in Highway 17 with the gate made of garbage where you have to find the three batteries?

urh in that level where u drive past a fallen down chimney, just as u drive right there are 2 guirders on either side on has a picture of a soldier holding a baby the other has that sign.

quoted for emphasis
It's a sign of the RESISTANCE because it shows RESISTANCE

Yeah, sheesh. Like I said before it's a resistor in a circuit, sign of the resistance work. You guys are thinking too much.
