Hey, i just wanted to know what PCs you all got and DO you plan to upgrade it before HL2 is released

Mine is:

MSI KT3V (mobo)
384DDRRAM PC2100
MSI Geforce4MX 460 64ddr
Blaster live 5.1
-----
Btw got money for radeon9700pro, just waiting for HL2 to b released :)))
 
i don't really remember the details of my spec.. but it's as follow:

PIII 600mhz
128 SDRAM
20 GB HD
NVIDIA TNT Somethign.. crappy.

I'm ganna upgrade it to
2.4GHz 533FSB PT4
PC133 512MB SDRAM
Maxter 80 GB / external version
NVIDIA XFX GeForce4 Ti 4200

Estimated price of $700 CD
 
Its my first post for one of these cuz i just upgraded and i definitely do not plan to upgrade again. (well maybe the soundcard)

Ahhhhh, the geforce GTS, i remember the time when that card kicked some butt, i also had 3D Goggles with it...weeee Quake 3 in 3D baby !

SDRAM? Why not DDR? It's not that expensive. And how about a R9500?
 
Im on a dell and probably getting another just because the cheap price for radeon 9800 and audigy 2. 900 something $...

Actually.. majority of DDR are chaper than SD..

and for Readeon 9500.. i don't know.. i'm tempted though..
 
I am trying to hold onto my money and not go out and buy radeon9700pro cause by the time HL2 comes out something better will be out

Geforce 5900 Ultra or Ati Radeon 9800 Pro 256mb whichever is best at the time.

The system specs of what your going to upgrade is fine since p4's dropped there prices on the cpu's. Dont go with the sdram tho.

*one question is what makes load time really quick - is more memory or a faster hard drive.
 
This is my own li'll beaty. Neon-Light cache which has damn cool neon-lights attached to it, and has a display where the CPU temperature is displayed as well as the overall CPU usage. It's mainly black and has silver and blue neon lights on it.

486 0wned. The RAM that was on the mobo for that was about 10cm long lol. And the HD was 545.5MB :O

  • dumb boring gray case
  • AMD thunderbird 1ghz CPU
  • 512 MB ram
  • VIA mobo (dont know the model no etc.)
  • Geforce 2 MX400
  • dvd/cd-rom player
  • 8 speed (focking slow) cd-rw burner
  • 32 gig HDD

but at the end of the week I am going to start ordering my pc parts (I am going to build one myself, and yess.. I will discharge myself from time to time :D | or a metal string on my pinky-finger that always touches the ground)

anyway.. the specs will be
  • Yeong Yang yy-0420 (black) cube server case
  • AMD XP3000+ CPU
  • 1gb or 1.5gb PC3200 DDR memmory
  • chaintech Nforce2 mobo, or some other nforce mobo (not sure)
  • Sapphire Atlantis RADEON 9800 pro 128mb
  • not so sure about the brand or type dvd/cd-rom player
  • cd-rw or DVD writer
  • HDD1 = 20 Gb (Maxtor) (being used for the sytem)
  • HDD2 = 200Gb (maxtor) (being used for movies, mp3's, warez, etc.)
