I have had debates here with people recently that wanted nothing more than for Valve to keep their mouths shut until they could be absolutely positively sure that they can give a date.

If Valve isn't positively sure they can meet a date right now then it would be wise if they keep their mouths shut because under the wild chance they don't make it then I suspect everyone here knows what alot of "fans" will be saying.

"OMG I HATE VALVE SOOO MUCH!!! THEY LIED AGAIN ABOUT ANOTHER RELEASE DATE!!!"

Really I would prefer silence over stuff like that being posted again.

My take....They're being given a bonus if they keep quiet (if not, they should get one) and they need to do something to keep people excited about the eventual release no matter how long it takes. Just look at all the attention they are getting now.

i like that idea, it gives us hope, and gives VALVe rightfully earned money, give that guy a copy of hl2, stat :naughty:

My guess they are working on releasing the game or they send the master to VU Games and are just waiting for it to go gold or it already gold and they are just making sure that Steam can handle the stress of people downloading HL2 completely and tell us when it hits the stores or they could be doing not thing.
