When I started I picked the theif, for the agility and the other stuff (Can't remember the other 2)

Otherwise I would have picked the Warrior, or Shadow.

The Atronach (+150 Magika points and 50% spell absorption from opponents and stunted magika [I cannot regenerate magic by sleeping or resting]). Combine this with the Brenton race (+100 magica and 50% magic resistance (all types)) and a couple of items to make me more magic resistant you got a mage that can stand in the middle of 5 evil mages and have fun. I had troulbe with the physical combat in the beginning, but now I have 50 level conjugation and my summoned enemies do all the fighting for me, with me bashing the guy in the back :D.

The Thief. And I am loving it. I would like to try some sort of battle mage thief mix next time though...I wonder what sign would be best for that...?

I think the thief is the best sign, but that sounds like a great strategy Roland. I picked thief for both of my characters, simply because you get the most stat points and those particular stat categories are always helpful.

I chose The Shadow, but I am considering changing at one of those altars to The Thief. Especially as I have little need for invisibility anymore.

Hold up, you can change your sign. How!!!! Is there any cost to changing?

you can change your birthsign without starting a new game? how?

Well... don't hold me to this specifically.

When my friend was playing, he came across a huge black monolith with red writing on it and apparently it was asking him whether he wanted to change his sign to The Warrior. I think he was somewhere near Chorrol.

As I said, I didn't witness this first-hand because I was watching Fight Club, but who knows?

I chose the Mage. As a Breton and Nightblade, I've got an agile physical fighter with some good magic attributes.

Less on the sneaky side though, and stealth hits count for less.

When you go up to an altar in the church of the god you want to change to I think it tells you to go and make a pilgrimage to their shrine at a certain place, then you can go there and change your alignment

I chose the warrior btw, even though I'm a member of the thieves guild and dark brotherhood
