When HL2 is actually released will people be talking about the game in here. My point is that so many people talk about how they dont want spoilers and they want to play the game but when HL2 is released people are going to be talking about it and giving spoilers to people that havent yet finished or made it to an area someone else is in already.

yeah people will be talking about it heaps. In fact I expect a few people will probably try and race through it so they can be the first to post "isn't ________ part so cool!!!!!11111shiftoneoneone" threads. Sad but true, happens with every other game.

I'm sure they will, i won't be here though because I'll be playing the game. Then maybe HL:S possibly followed by DoD:S (presuming it's out).
I assume that the rule about labbeling spoilers will still apply for a while but a mod could tell you for sure.

My point is that if people dont want spoilers posted right _now_ then the best thing might be to avoid coming to the forums until after they have completed the game. What makes posting spoilers now any different to posting them after the game has come out (apart from the game being out). There are legitimate spoilers like from magazines that some people are avoiding until they play the game. But once the games been played by them they will no doubt be posting their own.

Sorry, its just that this has been floating in my head for ages.

Even with a specific forum for discussion of the game, I'd still suggest to most people to steer clear of the forums until they've completed the game, unless they don't mind spoilers. Even if no one (accidently or purposely) mentions something spoiler-worthy in the other forums (which someone probably will), you could see thread titles on the forum index that might give away more than you'd prefer.
