Where's the crusher things?

I've completed Portal, but the ad shows a spiked-ceiling coming down on Chell. How do I play that level?

Yeah I remember waiting for that.

It looks a bit out of place compared to the final game, so they probably scrapped it.

That was a very early beta version showing off the basic mechanics of the game play. That level was never intended for use in the actual game.

That's a shame, it could have fitted well in to some of the levels.
