Who Actually Nuked Black Mesa

All right now I know that almost everyone thinks that the government nuked BM but ill tell you that your wrong.

In Opposing Force, in the level "The Package" once you defuse the bomb and Barney lets you in, if you go to the window you see the G-Man screwin around with the warhead. Also the G-Man mysteriously knows when it blows up. Leading me to believe that it was infact him who did it

The government black ops put the bomb there, armed it, Shepard defused it and then gman re armed it. Two way situation. Either way, Black Mesa was going to go bang.

Any of the storyline compilation websites out there that are any good mentions that it was the g-man who re-set the bomb.

Yes, as samon says the bomb was put there by the black ops, armed, defused and then rearmed by the Gman. When i played through HL1 i always thougt a nuking was on the cards, esspecially when the marines pulled out and the black ops arrived as one might guess that they were there to achive a small number of high risk, high priority missions such as dispose of Gordon and blow the place up. So, bassicly I beleve that nuking the facility was the logical conclusion to the original HL1, because what kind of nut case is gunna let a bunch of aliens run around in a classified govenment research facility filled with reactors and other crazy and not massivly stable bits of technology? No-one thats who. and whats the best way to deal with a bunch of aliens running around a research facility? (after they have defeated conventional forces) Why a thermonuke of course! Anyway i think it went someting like this:

Marines realise they cant win. marines begin to pull out.
Black ops ordered to locate, secure, place and detonate one of the warheads left over from BM's days as a missile base.
Marines complete pull out with as many of their number as possible, however, some marines have become cut off from the main group and have to be left behind.
USMC aircraft begin to bomb the facility to seal the entrances/exits to prevent the aliens from escaping the facility and to stop them interfearing with the black ops missions too much.
Black ops locate warhead. All black ops that are guarding/collecting the warhead are killed by Shepard & Co.
Black ops locate second warhead and move it to the predetermined detonation point to destroy the facility (in this case an underground parking garage)
Shepard shows up, wastes the black ops guarding the bomb and then disarms it.
The Gman rearms the bomb when Shepard is unable to return to it.

The weapon detonates, destroying the facility. Military/Govenment happy that this little incident didnt cause any long term problems. Quikly followed by "What the hell is that and what is it doing in my office?"
"Er... thats a headcrab sir, and its trying to take over your nervos system and turn you into a zombie."
anyway... BM is gone and we're never going back. Hahahahahahahahaha.....

Everyone knows that Black Mesa was nuked by Gearbox.

Theory 1: The Black-Ops were sent in by the government to take care of the mess the marines had made in the same way the marines were sent to clear up the scientists. The marines had done a bad job of things so Black Ops got sent in to nuke the place and had orders to kill any marines who got in their way. This suited the G-man perfectly, so he made sure the nuke went off.

Theory 2: As above except the G-Man interfered with the government and indirectly caused the Black Ops to be sent in. We know the G-Man had some standing within the government: at the beginning of Op4 Boot Camp we see him in a window with one of the commanders.

Theory 3: The Black Ops were under the direct control of the G-Man who wanted the facility nuked.

Sort of-Theory 4: The Black Ops were not only sent in to nuke BMRF but also to secure a teleporter so that military forces could be sent through to Xen.
