Why can`t Gordon walk??

I suprised no one has asked this yet, but how come Gordon can`t walk? All he does is run and sprint. It drives me nuts because if you want to slow down to line up a shot, it`s too fast. The game says sprint is SHIFT, ok that works, duck is CNTRL, that works, but then it says to walk hit ALT but when I hit that he keeps running. Is this a bug? I tried everything, assigning different keys etc etc but all this guy does is run run run.

He can walk. You just have to go into options and bind a key to the walk command. It is located in the bottom of the options screen.

gordon has probs /w coordination, so he just wants to run so noone notices. maybe the combine would tease him

Wow! that was fast reply. Thanks! What do you mean bind though? I`m new to this game, do you mean assign a key? I tried that. I assigned different keys, but it doesn`t matter if I make walk SHIFT or CNTRL this guy just keeps freggin` running.

Dunno about everyone else, but Left Alt makes Gordon walk for me

There's a walk button? No seriously, never knew that.
I do know he walks faster in his HEV than without it in the trainstation.

My dance key is "ctrl". What do you mean that's crouching? Just press it repeatadly and get your groove on

Heh... don't play online deathmatch, then.

He always moved too slow for me. Im used to Half-Life1 where you sprint around everywhere.

I thought Gordon's run mode WAS walking, as it seemed too slow. Until I try to keep up with walking NPCs like Alyx and have to keep stopping as I keep overtaking them.

I don't see walking as important anyway. It was in the first HL when you had to creep silently by those pecking beak tentacles to avoid getting jabbed.
