I saw all those screenshots and a movie or two with the modified Mashtuur a few months ago, but never actually knew the answer: why did they change the game so much since E3? If you don't know what I'm talking about, watch the trailer

The laser designator is actually there in the BF2 files, but they removed it for unknown reasons :/

The blackhawk, I guess they removed the missiles since it would deter the pilot from actually transporting troops. Not to mention the chaingun back then was ridiculous, if that thing had rockets it would rule Mashtuur completely.

As for why they removed the debris / cars, I have no idea... it'd be awesome if they were there D:

The laser designator doesnt work in the BF2 files and probably never did - none of the mods can fix it either
the MH60 though would have been awesome - I'm suprised they didnt include it in Special Forces as the natural opposition to the Hind - and that Mastuur map looks amazing, shame we will never see it
i dunno - DICE make some crazy illogical decisions and choices

The only reason i can see if for balancing

Yeah and we all know how reliable DICE is when it comes to balancing...

it seems they lack a centralised vision of the game - you can see the team saying 'well this would be cool, lets stick it in'
what is worse is how there is no direct feed between the community and the developer at all anymore

Sigh...guys you must realize who we're dealing with here. It's EA/Dice!

wow, the bullet holes were kinda crappy but were alot more noticable. and there were PHYSICS OBJECTS In the game. the retail one has hardly any phys objects.

BTW. who thinks that music was alot cooler than the retail music?

I guess the map was so detailed it would simply lag most machines ;)

Yeah good point, Mashtuur is heavy on the FPS as it is now. All the buildings and whatnot.

exactly, this game takes a hell of a machine to run it on high perfectly
