Why do they have to delay HL2 anyways

Why do they have to Delay HL2 till suposedly next april? Even if the source code and a playable version has been leaked should be cause for a delay should it?

This is only speculation. There is no official word from Valve. The only thing we herd so far was Gabe's post on this BBS.

now that people have the source code they can make cheats, bypass steam regulations etc. the worx. they need time to change the code.

if all of the code was stolen, which i think it was. Then they are gonna hve a hella of a lot of coding to do

No the only reason for a delay would be an unfinished product, that has nothing to do with the leak. Not a single developer would opt for April instead of a holiday release.

because the game isnt finished yet.
that doesnt mean its in the state the beta is in.. it simply means Valve are polishing it up.
