ok so i had some crappy 80 dollar ram and it ran fairly well. bf2 was fine. then i go and buy much much better ram and i havent noticed a difference, in fact its like its worse. especially bf2. it laggs like no other? WTF? do i need to reformat when you put new ram in or something?

The two sticks should be exactly the same.. On some systems you can get away with using different brands of RAM but on some systems (like yours) you need every stick to be the exact same.

On most systems, if you have 2 different speeds, the ram will slow down to the slowest ram speed.

Then again, the obvious, since there seems to be confict..compatibitly.

no they are the same. here:
my old stuff: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145440

my new stuff: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145466

it went up in price but i think thats it. like 95%

also, i noticed while taking pics of my computer that a wire was holding the processor fan back...i know thats not good but it prolly happened when i did the ram swap...do you think it would make a noticabe difference?

I have the same case as you .

Have you tried changing the ram timings through your BIOS? Under "Memory Timings" There may be options like "Turbo, Extreme or User Define." If you don't know which to pick manually setting the CAS Latency at 2.0 and the rest at 6-6-6 should be fine. :)

Any try doing a Defrag, with a big game like BF2 after you've installed the 250MB patch, the files are all over your drive.

If you can get PerfectDisk, it's IMO the best defragger. It offers smart placement. So files which are used most are positioned at the front of the disk as to load faster. Also program files are bunched together, so the drive doesn't have to search as much, which also makes it faster at loading etc. :)

EDIT: Also if your motherboard supports Dual Channel Memory. Put the sticks in slots 1 and 3 to enable it.

Definitely make sure that the fan is going okay and not held up by any wire....that could be quite a problem if you end up with a melted silicon sandwich inside that nice case.

6-6-6-6 even tho its timed at 2-3-3-6?

perfectdisk has a 30 day trial so that will do for now

Yeah 2-3-3-6 thats the same DDR so 3-3 = 6-6. On mine its 2-6-6-6 anyway, yours it displaying it diferently.
