Will HL2 have subtitles?

I remember playing dues ex and reading alot of the story because of the fact that it had subtitles...without those subtitles, I would've missed alot of the plot....my question is that whether HL2 will have subtitles, to enforce the storyline and plot...

Alot of times in FPS, you're distracted or observing the environment to actually understand when an NPC is telling you something important...maybe subtitles will be an option in HL2...

what do you guys think?
