look my sig. will i be able to play hl2 smoothly and please tell me what FPS is,like if its higher the better etc. thanks

FPS=frames per second. Generally the higher the better, but it's impossible generally to notice the difference between, say, 30 or 60. Under 25 isn't exactly smooth, and under 15 is very jerky.

And yes you can handle that game easily.

thanks, and what FPS you think i would be having?

P.S is my graphic card good?

* DirectX 9 level graphics card .... is mine directx 9 level? lol

Can't answer that, haven't yet seen HL2 in action. But if it runs similarly to HL2, I exect you to have high framerates on any settings. Probably still 40+ with antialiasing and anisotropic filtering off and a high resolution.

The video card is pretty decent, though there are those modified ones now... like I have. A GeForce FX 5700 would be better, but then again, 256 MB is good. The game will run very well on highest settings, I presume.

Nope, Source engine seems to run better than that. Should be 40 on 1024x768 with all high, I expect. At least from CSS, it runs very well on computers with nice video cards or much video memory. The slowdowns would be in physics, if the CPU was the bottleneck, but with a 3 GHz + CPU, that's hardly the concern.

The only minor problem I see is the video card. HL2 will run great but you might not get to play it on DX9.

yea but its not so big thing between dx8 and dx9 i think... and the most of the things i will put medium on. i dont like too high
