Will Valve release a HL2 themed multiplayer patch in the future?

Has Valve made any statements on whether or not they'll release a multiplayer patch in the future? I sure hope they do - and I hope it's free and not saved for inclusion in any future expansion packs. Hey, if Deux Ex, a game not really built for multiplay, can release a Deux themed multiplayer patch for free, why can't HL2?

On behalf of Malfunction studios we would like to welcome you to the HL2 DEATH MATCH MOD. Recently in mid October we learned that HL2's Multiplayer portion was Counter-Strike:Source, wich means no DeathMatch like some of us had been counting on. As soon as that news was out, members from HLFallout.com immediately put plans together to make a DM Mod for the HL2; each member of this team is as talented as the next. Be assured that when the SDK is released every member intents to begin work immediately, all weapons, characters and game play from HL2 will be featured in our mod, we appreciate any comments from you, because this mod is being made by the community for the community.

well it's obvious that they are concentrating on TF2. i don't know if you guys remember, a few years ago when tf2 was actually talked about, the description of the game is very similar to what we see today in source. i.e. real speech, physics, and lifelike environment.
