Ok, ive been mapping for a long time now, today i compiled my map and it gave me the error "windows cannot find the file specified"

i have changed nothing and have never come across this before.

HELP PLEASE??!!?

smoke.

If you are baffled by such a common error as that, then I must seriously doubt you've been mapping for a long time now :P

Look through the log for the actual error that prevents the file specified from being created.

In my experience m8, it isnt common.

Ever consider that ive simply never had this error?

Even so thanks for the tip

The command failed. Windows reported the error:
"The system cannot find the file specified."

It is the most common error, because any error preventing the creation of the BSP results in a file-not-found.

Now, as for the actual error, look near the end of the BSP section of the log:
MAX_MAP_MODELS
It seems you've gone over the engine limit of 1024 models per map.

my freind got that error once and he had to remove a prop_static object and on ur compile log it says max_map_models could it be u have to many models

um........yeah well ya see...........

/me is embarressed

I sort of got really REALLY bored and made a breakfloor map for me and a mate to play 1v1 on.............hehe

i did and it works, serioulsy ive never had this error before though and i HAVE been mapping quite a while...........l33t :P

cheers all :D
