Cannot wait. Hydra was one of my favourite things about the Half Life 2 videos that I saw. I was dissapointed when I didn't see it.

Valve said it wouldn't be in Half Life 2 and they would keep it for a future game. Doesn't sound like they plan to put it in Aftermath either.

It's not that much of a waste. The hydra is only a small part of the mod, the mod is an entire single player campaign over 13-15 maps. If you want to read more about it its under the "About" Section of the Hydra Mod page.

There is no hydra in Aftermath.

I got help from the hl2 developers on something with the hydra and it hasn't been worked on since 18 months.

Yeah, meaning they weren't working on it now for Aftermath. Though thankfully they were able to help with what they remembered about it from then.

HydraMod is a singleplayer mod experience which aims to provide new content to the Half-Life 2 game to create a new interesting experience. The focus of the mod is the Hydra. The experience is expected to span over 13-15 different custom maps. You are a young combine recruit for the Combine Marine Division which has been sent to a sea lab somewhere in the deep Atlantic Ocean. They have been having problems with security and asked for more security patrols. Little did they know the Genroachs stored there were planning to usurp their captors and free the xen life forms from bondage.
