Wireless internet and games

So im at college and I am on a wireless network in a house. Every minute or so my game pauses for a few seconds then resumes. When im playing CS it will freeze and a few seconds later i will be dead or almost. I have heard that this happens to all wireless connections or that it only does that because its picking of interference from wireless phones or something. I need a straight answer. Does anyone know why this happens and/or what I can do to fix it.....

hmmm.. I'm on a wireless network (have been for over a year now) and have never had any significant problems. When I first set it up it would drop every few hours, but I changed the wireless channel and that fixed it. Also when I got XP SP2, I had to take control of the wireless network away from windows and let the applet that came with the wireless card control it. Since then it's never dropped.
