I just dreamed I was falling in a pit with ****ing giant spiders in it. GIANT SPIDERS! Not that I'm afraid of spiders but when they are GIANT things change a lot, like 3 times my size. THAT WAS HORRIBLE!

Now tell me your horrible nightmares.

I was playing football with my cousins in my old house's front yard when a sea mutant came out of the road river and chased us inside. But my cousins closed the door with me still outside and just watched as the mutant walked right up to me. Then I awoke.

When I was 10 my mum died, about a week after I was laying in bed, you know when it's so silent that it's almost really loud? Well it was really really dark, and I could hear my mum telling me instructions in french (my family are french, at this point we lived in America), of how to play a board game. All of a sudden I heard a crash like someone tropping a metal tray on hard floor and woke up really suddenly. I'm still not sure what happened, it didn't even seem like I "woke up", just sort of came out of a bit of a trance.

It wasn't the worst but it's one of the most bizarre.

Oh also, before I go to sleep sometimes, I'll be laying there with my eyes closed, and I'll see a quick flash of something really weird. They're sometimes a bit disturbing but usually just strange, like one I was holding a dead rabbit and another I had carved a big W into the palm of my hand.

I had a fit of Old Hag on New Years day, and had the horrible sensation of being pinned to my bed by Father Time, who was sitting on me and glowering at me. Terrifying.

When I was younger I slept on the side of my pillow which had Postman Pat's face on, and I had a bad dream that I was getting eaten by a dinosaur.

I never slept on Postman Pat's face ever again.

Can't remember my worst, but I had a pretty ****ed up one last night where zombies started attacking my house for some reason. I fled from them and I struck one in the head with an axe, which was pretty cool. Then when I got outside everyone had turned normal again, only they were covered in blood, torn clothes etc. and looking rather bemused.

Then I woke up. Fastest zombie apocalypse ever amirite?

I'm lucky enough to never dream. I close my eyes, lose hours of time I'll never regain, and then awake to start the day anew.

Wait.. that in itself is a bad nightmare.

Last summer I had the worst Nightmare in my life, by far. I was at some kind of party with a bunch of friends and there's a girl in the same room as me who needs to make a phonecall to her parents, halfway through it she starts sounding panicked and asking what's wrong, so everyone gathers around her to ask what's wrong and suddenly she drops the phone, looks at me. There's a window behind her with dark forest and as she looks at me something in her eyes tells me that there is something unbelievably horrible has happened to the rest of the world, it's coming here and there is nothing we can do about, nowhere to go.
I woke up and I don't think I've ever been that frightened waking up after a dream in my life. I literally stayed in my bed for five minutes, too scared to move. It was also really scary cause I've mostly had "normal" nightmares where my bed was full of snakes and shit.

There are two, because they are simultaneously the most terrifying; neither is more terrifying than the other.

When I was three, I had a dream I was being chased up a sheer mountain by giant, glistening black spiders. As fast as I ran, I could not escape. One caught me, knocked me to the ground; I rolled over, facing my attacker. It raised one of its spike-sharp legs and impaled me, right through my belly button.

Hence why I have a deathly fear of spiders and do not let people near my belly button.

The other dream...I don't remember how old I was, but I was also young when I had it. It was night, and I was walking around a neighborhood, barefoot for some reason, presumably heading home. And I was walking across a lawn, cool and wet, when all of a sudden a hand shot up and grabbed my leg. I shook it loose and took another step, but out came another hand.

I bolted, but as I looked around hands were clawing their way out of the ground all around me, grasping, trying to pull me down. They were the hands of the dead, I just knew it, so I ran. I can't remember if they caught me or not. They probably did, but I don't want to try and remember. It is enough to know that those hands were after me without knowing the outcome.

Hence why I loathe zombies with a fanatical passion.

I was at my lake house in the water, swimming away from my twin who was chasing me trying to drown me.

I had that dream like 10 years ago too...I just remember trying to swim so hard but I just couldn't swim faster than him.

I also had one (not quite a nightmare, but I still hated it) where I saw a sheep get run over.

Doesn't sound bad, but it does when you're asleep.

Ive had my water mutant dream like 4 or 5 times in my life so far. Its strange. I think my brain is just to unimaginative to make new content, and instead is just playing re-runs

Not my most terrifying but one that I'll always remember was when I was really young.
Me and my family were in a car at some sort of amusement park, and I was in the back seat on the right, and they all turned around and had no faces. then for some reason they started grabbing at me, but it seemed like they were trying to tickle me, but it hurt.
That was more weird than scary.

Another was a recurring dream, again when I was young, where I'd walk into our bathroom during the night, turn the light on, close the door, and bolt the lock. As soon as I turned round to go to the bathroom the lights would go out, and I would curl up in a ball, close my eyes, and cup my head in my hands. That's all I remember vividly to this day, but I remember there was a voice that said "Do not open your eyes" and perhaps it'd say some other things (I seem to think they were actually instructions on what I should do in my life, or be more confident or something. Can't remember though). Anyway I'd either end up waking up in the bathroom, or in my bed. The last time I ever had the dream, I opened my eyes and woke up. It never happened again.

Another one that stuck with me was a dream in which I answered our front door, and then got shot in the stomach. Everything went really warm and I just collapsed, then woke up, sweating.

I have never had a dream so terrifying (or kinky) that I've wet myself.

I dreamt I was being eaten alive by rats last night

scary **** ;(

I dreamt my best friend died once.

Mother ****ing subconscious bullshit assholes scaring me silly.

Had an insanely lucid dream once, couldn't actually see anything in the dream that was making this noise.. but I kept hearing thuds on the staircase. So I went back to bed and tried to ignore it, then whilst lying down I genuinely thought I'd woken up, I hadn't .. the same thing happened again before I did actually wake up. Really bizarre, had me in a sweat.

So that was very similar to mine but when I have these nightmares I will always wake up when something terrible is about to happen. I'm surprised it actually impaled you, I would have woke up. How does being impaled feel? :x

Nightmares are nothing compared to waking dreams, and until you experience one, you'll never really know.

I haven't had a nightmare in a while and I can't seem to draw up any past ones. Slightly related: Hypnic jerks are annoying as ****.

Ugh, that shit happens to me at school when I try to sleep on those hard ass desks.

I'm sure they lead to some interesting situations.

Sharp. Slick. Hot. Not the sexual kind of hot, the burning kind of hot.

I also had a dream once where I got a rusty nail screwed into my belly button, that was pretty terrible, but not the worst.

I almost never wake up when bad things are about to happen, I wake up afterward. I remember hearing that you can't die in your dreams; you wake up before you do. But that's not true, because I once died in a dream, actually died, and that was a trip. My cousin stupidly set off a nuclear rocket that landed right on me, killing me. Bright flash, and then I was untethered and hanging around, seeing my own body. And THEN I woke up. And then I was like, "I'm gonna call my cousin and bitch to him about being a jerk and dropping a bomb on me."

And I did.

That must have been an interesting conversation :P

Yeah, I've had my fare share of those and they suck. I'm lucky I haven't had any visual hallucinations while in this state. All that's ever happened to me is I think I've woken up and I'm paralysed and after a minute I wake up for real. One time in the waking dream there was something hovering above me making random loud noises, when I woke up I realized the noises were from lawnmowers outside. Man I hate it when noises interact with your dreams...

I was on top of a ferris wheel when it broke down and tipped over. A flash of bright red, and I woke up.

I dreamed I was a general fighting Russians... in New York... Bombing them to hell.

Shit, look at these images I drew about iit 4 years ago. LOL. The memories.

I have a lot of really ****ed up and scary dreams. Last night I had a weird one, and all I can really rememeber was this old man helping an old woman across the street because their was ice and snow everywhere. He comes back and turns to me, and I can see that he has no eyes, only bloody, dripping eye sockets. I then look down and there is a pair of bloody eyeballs on the ground. Now I get to say bloody a few more times. bloody...bloody...bloody...

I used to dream lobster people in bathing suits walked out of my closet.

today I lol at the nightmare because they were "coming out of the closet".

That virtually killed that nightmare and made it a comedy.

Not actually scary, but this was when I was really stressed out about school, so it was upsetting:

I dreamt I was at a music festival with a bunch of people and we were in a room trying to pick what bands we wanted to see. Then everyone else left me... but they came back, so I was thinking, "Awesome, let's go see some bands now!" But then, someone said, "Hey, don't you have a lot of work to do?" and someone else said, "Yeah, I think you should just stay here and finish your homework," and as they were leaving, I ran after them screaming, "How do you people NOT have any work to do???"

I was so mad that I woke up hyperventilating. :o

That reminds me of a dream I had where I was in some kind of lab facility, and they were sending off this giant rocket, so we go outside to watch it. It was lifting off and then I saw it start turning over in slow motion and I realized it was about to hit this giant reactor tank, and as it was going to hit I was thinking, "Ohhhhhh crap." And then it hit the tank and there was a massive explosion and everyone was slammed onto the concrete and someone's knee was in my back. It hurt a lot.

Being in a house that slowly caught fire in various bits, before being trapped in the basement and watching the fire creep towards me...

And some messed up dreams involving people I know.

A little off topic, but I once convinced Wanted Bob that it was 2 weeks into the future, and he started freaking out. He then thought he was in dream or something along those lines, so we eventually told him the truth and he got crazy pissed.

the end

continue about dreams

how the hell do you believe your 2 weeks into the future.

though ina related off topic, non-dream event. I once woke up, took a piss , went to bed, and then woke up 15 minutes EARLIER! WTFNOWAI! OMGTIMEFLUXCAPACITOR!

MY TIME MACHINE WORKS!

Very good work, Test Subject #22

Test Subject #22, for 5 years I have been spying you, and when you went to bed, I sent some people to pick you up, and ensure that you would not wake up. They took you to my lab, where I would use you to test my time machine. When it did not work, we sent you back to your bed (unharmed, I hope). Last time I tested my time machine, It did work and you were sent 15 minutes back. Now I am not giving you any reward for your efforts (as you didn't even know you were being tested), and I'm going to use the time machine to take over the world.

Yes. That also explains your strange old neighbour who kept watching you with night vision googles, even when you went to take a shower or was walking around naked. You thought he was gay, but he is working for me.
