I'm at the part where all the striders are trying to kill you.

I haven't seen this gun. Did I miss it, or did Valve remove it from the game? I must say, I really liked that gun

it served the same function as the mp-7 so it got axed, shame it looked way better than the mp-7

It was replaced by the HK MP-7 because the XM-29 was canceled by the Army because it failed to meet size and weight requirements. I got to see one in person at a trade show two years ago and it was a very bulky and awkward weapon. Although as far as realism goes the MP-7 doesn't have a grenade launcher and only has a 40 round magazine.

Yeah, I've always wondered where the MP7 keeps the grenade launcher. I mean, I see a 2nd barrel above where the regular one would be, but it's the exact same size/caliber, and I can't imagine a grenade launcher in that tiny little space.

I guess it could be chalked up to Combine engineering but still, just a lil' funky.

The OICW was replace by the Overwatch Standard Issue Pulse Rifle. If they had kept the OICW, it would have just been a slightly more powerful SMG.
