(XSI Mod Tool) face grey when UV mapped to black

I have a face that in the textured view it shows as grey but on the UV map the triangle is in a pure black area. When i compile it shows up as a invisible area. How can I make it show up as the proper colour?


This is what it looks like in texture detail mode (see the gray area well everything around it is black)

it looks like that face isnt mapped. the grey u see there is the original color of the model. select the face and see if its uvw is mapped in the uvw editor.
 
I don't know what was wrong with it but after remaking the polygon it looks to be alright.

im really too drunk to understand the question but select the triangle in the texture editor and check its the same riangle u think it is lol. also have u tried deleteing the triangle and n'ing it. whatever thats called lol. u know where u make a polygon out of thin air. anyway if neither of them is any help ill tlk to u again in the morning gnight.
