Ignore Earth's Other inhabitants?

Think about it. This isn't a "will earth's animals survive" thread. Would the combine take the earth's animals and play "Impossible Creatures" with them? Fuse them with Technology and stuff? The gunship looks a lot like a flying whale with a propellor rotor thingy and machine-gun, and the dropship is a space-crab, or something...

What do you think? Do you see Combine Tigers in the future? Elephant-Giraffe mutations? Camels with machine guns? Look! See what potential these, and more, species have. What would happen?

(Besides the oversized, Gigantic Land Squid. That's mine.)

Hmmm. They might have done something with the whales, had they not dried the oceans up. Guess they missed the ball with that one.

They'd probably make something Cthulhu-esque out of some of the larger squid species, as Jintor suggests. Other than that, our Earth-creatures aren't especially exciting. They'd probably extract some DNA from creatures with interesting traits, before grinding them up and putting them in ration packs.

the gunship does look like a whale-wasp-with rotor creature with machine gun, but it probably isnt though.
when u gotta destroy the portal to stop dr breen, dont u see some gunships hovering about in the destination planet?

but seeing these giraffe with machine gun type things in the future, it probably will happen, though probably not with giraffes, would seem too much like a strider. it wouldnt surprise me if they (oooh who are 'they'?) are already working on things like that.
they have already done something to control rats, looks a bit like a rat with a jetpack at the moment ;)

Giant squid, hydra, insects of all manner, spiders, sponges, starfish.

Compared to xen, earth has some freaking weird creatures.

I would like to see an elephant with heli rotors on its head, so it could fly around and land on people. Or a whale which fires mechanical monkeys out of its mouth, at a range of 500 miles. POWER.

Well, i was more thinking of striders bred with echinoderm genes so when a leg falls off ti grows back, and the severed leg grows into a new strider. But whatever goes.

I think Earth's wildlife is pretty pathetic compared to the synths. I don't think they'd bother.

I'm fairly certain that the combine only bother with enhancing the dominant sentient creatures of any particular planet. There's nobody driving the gunships or striders, they're completely autonomous because they are intelligent.

It's completely plausible that the combine happened upon a planet where the dominant creatures were striders, with a fully-functioning society composed entirely OF striders.

Now they've turned their attention to earth.....and humans.

There's probably no wildlife left.

The earth is a wasteland over run with xen aliens, bar a few cities. I honestly doubt any creature from our planet will be able to stand up to the likes of a garg....

I doubt Gargs are wildlife, at least, not anymore.
