So, I got my 6600 GT for xmas, switched it with my older one, erased all the drivers and then installed the ones on the CD. Ok no problem, reboot, all that stuff, download latest, reboot. Whatever.

Then, I start up WoW. Everything is running horrible. FPS was averaging 12. I was in IF at the time, so I use my hearthstone, go to Stranglethorn. Still the same. At this rate I started getting pissed. I put everything on low and rebooted the game. I was getting 30 FPS maximum. I asked a friend as to what this could be and he asked for my 3dMarks. I didn't know wth that is so I decided to google it. I then downloaded and installed the test version.

I was amazed at all the graphics, but watching them at a mere 2-10 FPS wasn't pleasing. At all. About as pleasing as having your balls smacked between a door when you're a kid. My 3dmarks were 2347 iirc. Normally, a 6600GT should have about 4000. Wtf is going on? If anyone knows how to increase FPS or whatever the problem is, please tell. Many thanks in advance, Boogymanx.

300W, extra power source?:dork: And Sparkle GeForce 6600GT 128Mb DDR3

u need a bigger psu; i use a 400 w psu for my PNY 6600 gt. well, when i installed the gfx card, there was some problem with the dx 9.0 settings so i had to reinstall all my games.

u might wanna lower the resolution abit and dun put too much anti-aliasing cuz that can drop the framerates. and dun put vsync on, cuz that will lock the framerate.

I'm gonna buy myself a new psu then. Thanks for the help, still don't know what he meant with extra power supply though.

The 6600GT doesn't need to be connected to the power supply. Mine draws power from the PCI-e slot. Dunno about AGP though.

I've got PCI-e so that's ok. Don't have an extra power supply, only this weird black cable that afaik doesn't fit on anything.
