Whats your favourite character?

For me it would be Mossman. Rather than bieng pure good or evil, she is arguebly the most human character - she isn't infallible, she makes mistakes but ultimatly tries her best. She's such an interesting character, its a shame we don't see more of her.

Plus, her sweater is tight.

Magnusson.

It's nice to have somebody around who actually complains.

Alyx... just because she makes the scenery so nice. Her "obvious statements" are necessary, and would come from whoever was following you.

Barney, because he's classic, and humorous.

Kleiner because he makes me nostalgic.

Eli, because he's such a brilliant character.

Gordon, because I'm egotistic.

Gordon Freeman, because I play him in a Dr. House-ish manner.

Gordon Freeman is Dr. House.

Torn between Alyx and Mossman. Alyx harks back to 80s Sci-Fi when sweet-hearted women toughened up their exterior to fight aliens and cyborgs, before they started wearing cat-suits and finding time to do their makeup and deliver lines ice-cold. I just find that a far more compelling (and realistic) female character, a Sarah Connor or an Ellen Ripley rather than an image obsessed Trinity (the Matrix really sold the alternative, now cliched female heroine).

As for Mossman, you'd be hard pressed to name a female character of her age and intellectual position in a sci-fi product, and it's interesting that just as Valve were going to make Alyx the steely commando woman at one point, Mossman was going to be the more conventional 'deceitful bitch' that the few 30-45 year old women in Sci-Fi tend to be. But now there's an intriguing mix of desperation, jealousy (of Alyx and the absent Azian) and an underlying sense of Justice in her character. Magnusson was invented to fill the void of tension that she leaves in the early episodes, but he lacks the subtlety that she brought.

I think the real reason that I can't chose between them is simply that I miss the Alyx/Mossman dynamic and can't wait to see what happens post Episode Two finale. How will Mossman take it all, and will they blame or comfort each other in their grief?

-The G-man because he's so mysterious, that makes him cool IMO
-Sheckly since he fights pretty well in
EP.2's cavern fight with turrets, mines and vorts

Gman-he is mysterious
Gordon-he is always mute
Alyx-for having nice purple pants
Eli-EP2 ending
Barney-for headhumpers and saying GJ! in EP2
Gregori-for his laugh

List = Read:

Alyx - A good well developed character with a good background, and also brings a bit of sexy into the Hl2 series, makes up for mossman (shivers)

Gman - Always unexpected and is always a good moment to see him peering through a window at you.

Barney - Brings comic relief to parts of Hl2 and Ep1, also is a great companion to have along.

Companion Cube - Need I say more...

Eli - WAS a father figure in the game and always showed faith in Alyx and Gordon.

Mossman - Most human figure, but gets annoying at times....stupid backstabbing backstabber...

Breen - WAS a good villain with a good voice and use of words, 'oh shit...'

Gregori - Angry Russian man

Fisherman - Don't even go there... 'I'll take you as far as i can anyway', he takes you 20 feet up a path, and opens a gate you could walk around.

Odessa - Good sounding *chap* but is later annoying for taking the credit for that gunship...

Kleiner - Also brings comic relief to the Hl series.

Griggs/Sheckley - Bring comic relief to sections of EP2, good characters

Vorty Friend from EP2 - Good character with a good voice and a hint of bravery about him :D

Kleiner. The Ep1 Kleinercast was a highlight.
Although I've always liked Vortigaunts in HL2, hence my avatar.

The G-man is my favourite. I love him very much and would like to kiss him.

It's a toss up between Mossman and Breen.

Mossman is the most dynamic and multi-tiered of the characters; there's the envious, intellectual woman on top, and then below there's the jealousy, the condescending personality and that passion for science that ultimately Breen uses to manipulate her. It's really wonderful to see her develop as a character. She's trying to do the right thing for the people she loves (namely Eli), and for humanity in general because she doesn't see any hope in what the resistance is trying to accomplish. She wants to save people, but she's hindered by people like Breen, and it's great to see her finally turn in the Citadel. It's also very touching when she reacts to Alyx calling her Judith – she just wanted Alyx to like and respect her.

Breen is awesome, and he's the perfect antagonist. You just can't not get a kick out of the guy telling you you're going to be destroyed in every way it is possible to be destroyed, and then even in some which are essentially impossible!

Oh, how did I forget about Breen and the Gman?
