i have a N64 and the new Zelda game looks really good. Should I buy a gamecube for this game?

Maybe wait for the wii to be released - it should be pretty cheap ( < $150) and will allow you to play TP with the wand :) Or pick up a cheap GC with loads of games.

Either way it's all good :)

You sure it's < $150? I thought the Wii was confirmed <= $250

If I were you I'd just hold off until the Wii comes out. If you don't want that you can still get a really cheap GC by then.

Ah, I meant < £150.

Still cheap as chips for what you're getting.

Yeah it is. Most unique gameplay for the cheapest price. How could I possibly not want a Wii? :)

The only thing im not sure about on the Wii is that what if you are really tired and you just want to play on a normal controller instead of playing on the TP.

You really don't need to make big movements with the controller like a lot of the promotional videos show, just small wrist movements work fine. Keep in mind you aren't using the remote to swing Link's sword as well.

Anyways, I would just wait to get the Wii and that version of Twilight Princess, keep in mind you can still play Gamecube games that you may have missed as they are backwards compatible on the Wii.

Not to mention the fact that the Wiimote sensitivity for all the E3 demos was absolutely nerfed. Though I could use the exercise...

I'd save up for a Wii. Then you get a brand new console and you can still play all of those old Gamecube games that you've missed. :) You can also download old SNES, NES, N64, SEGA and loads of other classic games onto the Wii and play them :)

That's so true I could eat my own face! Wii ftmfw.

I just baught a gamecube & its really awesome for the fact that you can get used games for insanely cheap. I baught Resident Evil 4 brand new for $19.99 - Metroid Prime for $4.99 used. F-zeroGX for $6.99 used & tony hawk underground 2 for $12.99 used & splinter cell pandora tomorrow for $9.99

While the gamecube graphics arnt the greatest the gameplay is great, I baught it cause I needed something cheap to hold me off untill the ps3 is out. I havnt fully decided on getting the wii yet, ive seen the new games are going to cost $59.99 just like the other 2 systems so I might skip the wii & go with the ps3 for just game selection purposes. It seems allot of game devolopers have abandond nintendo so Ps3 or xbox 360 is the way to go imo. I use my computer for when I want best graphics.

Not really..... Since the Wii has been announced a lot more Developers have jumped on with Nintendo. A LOT MORE.

No one has said anything about the Wii's price of games. If they are that high then it's publishers being ****ing greedy. I mean there should be no reason for that. It dosn't take a 100 man team to develop a game for the Wii and the Dev Kits are 2 grand, cheaper than the Ps1 Dev Kits!

Mineral speaks teh truth. And with the dev kits being much cheaper we may see see some smaller companies releasing some really original games too.

I think Nintendo has actually said that the Wii games would not be over $50 US.

There is also the classic games for US$4.50 to US$8.99

Then there is this:

From the Nintendo site itself: "[The Virtual Console] will be home to new games conceived by indie developers whose creativity is larger than their budgets."
Nintendo offers small 3-4 person developer teams to create their original simple Wii games and sell them for the Virtual Console. Iwata: "Yet it is possible to create a reasonably entertaining game in two months with a team of three." (Note: That's not the price of SNES, N64, NES games! Latest rumors hint from 1$ to 3$ for the "retrogames")

Downloading DS demos via the Wii is a nice touch, but not that surprising. Being able to use the DS as a touch screen for the Wii, however, offers up the possibility of being able to use the Wii to play DS games on your television. The GameBoy Player was a successful product for the GameCube, allowing gamers to play their GBA games on their televisions, and if the Wii features such an ability, Nintendo has a better chance of converting DS gamers into Wii owners.

Wrong. Nintendo announced the average cost of new games developed for the Virtual Console, not the classic ones.
Maybe you can explain how I am wrong:
Nintendo President Saturo Iwata spoke yesterday at a Japanese marketing event (Japanese source), revealing information about "virtual console" pricing and the Wii's relationship with the DS. Iwata revealed that games for Nintendo's "virtual console" that will allow Wii owners to play old titles on their consoles will be priced at ¥500 and ¥1,000, roughly US$4.50 to US$8.99.

OH nevermind... at the bottom of the page:
Update: other sources are claiming that Iwata only spoke about about "new" games, and that by this he meant games not yet in existence. We understood his comments to be about games "new" to the virtual console service, including classics.
I stand corrected. :)

Yes I've also quoted retro games:
Latest rumors hint from 1$ to 3$ for the "retrogames")

So. We are looking at:

about $4.50 - $9 for new virtual console games

$1- $3 for classic games that originally appeared on the NES, Genesis, SNES, N64, etc.

Any disagreement with that? Sounds like a fair deal.

Guys, stop talking about Wii. Please. My keyboard will thank you for not being constantly drooled on.

It would probably be wiser to get it on the wii. It is a launch title afterall. And if you don't want to that's cool as well, you can get a used gamecube for less than $70 these days, and it has alot of great games. Still, it would be wiser to buy the new system.
