Zombie (temp title)

I have made a demo with the help of a programmer but have since then droppped the project. We were working with Dark Basic PRo, and it gave me too many problems such as the crapply designed .x format

So now im using half-life2

Please contact me if your tired of the same old crappy cheesy zombie games made with half-life/half-life2 and want to work on a real 'cool' zombie game

My game well be somewhat like this -
gameplay - somewhat advance
graphics - cheap and beautiful
sound - silent for now
input/controller - somewhat advance
story - none for now
design/overall - i just want to get the game done, then, optimize can come later
camera - 3rd and 1st

If i was to compare my game - SoulReaver+GTASA but more advanced but poorer quality

I hope to get my game done by this week, i need extremely dedicated experienced Half-Life2 members (programmers - 2 or less), who can keep up with me

I can handle the art, but i might need a level designer... -> I might

EXAMPLE - iv got 5 models ready including the main character, with animations all set

Some information on what makes this cool or different would be nice. Saying 'my mod rocks' doesn't get people's engines going.

I know what im doing

About the game, what can i say, its very sloppy but it works, its going to fun, its going to be the zombie game iv always wanted... I still got other engines to go bothering other programmers about, so i aint worry at all, even if nothing turns out right, ill become a programmer myself... I would just hate to wait because i got other dream(game) to flesh out too...
 
I can't judge whether or not it's sloppy because you haven't given any real information about it.
 
Well, the gameplay wont suck, when everything is done it might actualy be of high quality. But for now as you can see, the art is sloppy, everything else is sloppy too, but my goal is to get things done so i know the process, once i know the process and what needs to be done, then polishing will come (if the game turns out ncie). What im talking about now is actualy just getting my demo out, with alot of features implememnted, but no polishing yet...

But im also asking in other places too so hopfuly some programmer dude decides he wants to use my game idea to help whatever his reasons are

Well the information is just as you see it. Its a basic zombie game and nothing more. Sure there are more detials but, well, to explain the game a little more, it is a simulation of what the world would be like if zombies were to exist. But anyways, im probly droping the idea of using SOURCE, so i got no time to waste =). And shouldnt waste other peoples time reading this thread. But if someone want sto help, just contact me

To update, i dont need a programmer anymore, i found a decent one already

I quoted all the things you said that either contradict each other, don't make sense, or haven't been elaborated enough on.

Basically, what makes your mod special that people will want to join up on it? You have no story, and no gameplay. You're making your dream game, which sounds a lot like Doom with zombies. How you can compare it to Soul Reaver, which has a deep storyline, and completely different gameplay, is well beyond me.

Yeah, you've got this idea to flesh out too.

PS: "I just want the game done, we can optimise for later" is not how games are made. You start with a solid plan. Which you clearly do not have. You also have no concept of time.

If you want to know the process, take a course on Game Design. There are a number of websites that offer them, as well as colleges. I've taken both an online course and one in college, and both were very informative and useful.

What I mean is that you have a completely unoriginal idea, that hasn't been entirely fleshed out, and you expect other people to do a large portion of the work. It won't be anything special, it won't be widely played. We aren't getting paid for it. I don't see any real incentive. It doesn't even look like quality enough to even BE released.

I do have concept of time, i have everything planned, my plan is to let everything come together without planning anything. I want to be realistic and start simple and build it from there, and see what i can do to make the game better. And im not trying to impress anyone, the game is made purposely sloppy so i can use/test features, thats the whole purpose of my game

But like i said, i found a programmer already

Thanks for the help though, i know what you mean by my info being useless and uninteresting to people i want to recruite
