Zombies kill Alyx

I was playing through EP1 on hard again.
I was still fighting zombies but she decided to leave the room and had 3-4 zombies around her. Alyx got mauled by Zombies in the hospital. lol

Has anyone else had Alyx die?

I dont think Ive seen her die at all in Ep1.
Bit worrying with all the explosive barrels and Zombine suicides around her though, especially when waiting for the lift.

The only time she died for me was when you travel down the big glass lift in the citadel, and huge chunks of the citadel fall on it. I couldn't figure out what to do for a while and was stuck in a loop of the lift getting smashed up and falling to our deaths.

She died a couple of times on the elevator where you have to catch the crap falling down. And once in the garage where you have to go up over the concrete beams.

She never died with me, but I was worried. A few times I saw her near an explosion then lost sight of her and only saw a vague slumped form.. luckily it was always zombie or something.

She died once on before the elevator in LowLife. Mind you, I died about three times too because I only had 26 health and couldn't find any more health packs. So I thought... I know! I'll use my leet jumping skills and let Alyx kill them all. I jumped somewhere the zombies couldn't reach me and a few seconds later... Alyx has died. I felt so guilty and angry that I went ****ing all out the next try with flares and gas cans flying every-which way but none.

Same here - only cos I decided to ignore everything in order to work out what to do! For some reason, it took me ages to realise you could go up a floor

I thought maybe you had to throw the fuel containers onto the burning fire (create an explosion??), then I tried blocking the other 2 holes (only one car on the ground floor) with rubble

Alyx died with me a few times on the elevator that gets hit by the falling wreckage. I still think Dog would have made a far more convincingly bullet-proof companion.

I don't think it counts that Alyx dies on the elevator if you don't catch the falling debris - you aren't protecting her per se, you're protecting the entire elevator, including yourself. She can't do anything about it. I lost her before getting on the elevator once. It was taking a long time and I thought I had to do something else, so I took off to look around and let her fend for herself (she did, after all, handle the zombines mano-a-mano). After a few moments, the screen said, "Alyx has died". Back to plan A for me. Note to self: Save those flares for the end!
