Mebbe he and the science team managed to capture one and disable his 'tracking device' so the combine wouldnt know when he died under interrogation. Then Barney took the uniform and ID bypassing of security devices in suit and equipment with help from the Science team and just strolled into work...

ABout the AI to the squad you have either basicly "Go" or "Come back" If your see a strider, face the opposite direction then press "Go" they SOMETIMES go away then but others decide to be "Have a go heroes". Then you get to pick up ammo supplies heh hehe hehe

I bet this is why Valve wanted the Steam...that way if Vivendi tried to screw 'em over (cant see why they should, they would profit from HL2 release) Valve can still release HL2 over the net and keep some of the fans hapy - build up a bit of capital etc so they dont lose all cred thnx to VU...
