Oni took a big influence from the GITS franchise, probably the closest non-GITS game you'll get IMO.

love the new look - I think more games should follow this direction (like the NOLF series, the banana peel was great in deathmatch) - though after playing Narbacular Drop, I'm more interested to see how Portals pans out - not forgetting to check in on Alyx and Dog.

Well, it's far from perfect but my first impressions are pretty good - in fact PC Gamer had it about right, rating it 85%. The game still clearly needs work to tighten it up and for a retail game, some of the discrepencies are suprising - especially compared to the tightness of free HL2 mods...

Who knows, there may well be changes to the price as the series progresses - the whole notion of downloadable episodic content is new to the games industry, so you may expect the business model they are using will change when they get an idea of how popular the episodes are.

All of our dinosaurs have meticulously learned their lines to give a gritty realism and honesty to the mod. In fact, some of stage and screens brightest dinosaur stars are gracing our mod to give it a more cinematic intensity. :rolling:

The way to think about the whole episodic concept is to think of them in the same light as TV shows, compared to full-retail games, which are akin to blockbuster movies. As it's such a new concept, there are things which clearly need to be ironed out - pricepoint, release regularity etc...
