I only registered yesterday and the only reason for that was to give up a few opinions. Now amidst this tidal wave of news, lies and opinions all i can see is negativity. So hopefully you guys will think these thoughts positive.
1. The source code and some game levels,models etc have been stolen and rumors of a pre-gold release are spreading too. In the past we have casted down these rumors but every time we denied their existance we were shown that they were real. Now we have to accept this and go on with our lives our own way. The game will be released and i highly dought this will hurt sales. Every game ever made has been pirated and most of them sell very well. Think of Half-Life or the Quake series or the Unreal Tournament series. Half-Life 2 sales will be good and valve will be fine. Yes its unfortunate that Gabe and his team lost their creation but its been done and this is what builds character. The sooner we stop hating them or the hackers who stole the code the sooner things will settle down and everyone will be calm enough to see whats going on. Help Valve in any way but dont speculate etc. I repeat: Valve will sell so many copies of Half Life 2 that they will be set and the main concern about the stolen release is finding the hackers. The cheats dont matter because they would be invented anyways and any rival companies looking at the Source code will certiantly taint their own code and get sued. Just calm down and see whats happening. We will all enjoy the game and we just have to be patient. anyone downloading the Stolen copy can if they want because im certian that most of you downloading it are going to buy it. You have enough brainpower and will to want to download 1.3 gigs and so it shows me you have the motivation to get the suitably less buggy retail version of the game. I'm not for it or against it.
Just trying to shed some light or positive infomation.
If anybody wants to flame me go ahead because you can critize me without flaming. If you have the brainpower or maturity of course.
