ive got another question, we have seen in 1 of the binks video u can explode paint cans, does this mean that if u exploded it on sum1 they would get covered in paint?

Maybe it wasn't purely scripted, the strider blast through the thingy. Maybe it was scripted so the Strider understands that the thing can be blown away? Eh? Maybe so.

That's how it's supposed to run... the destructable object has a hint attatched to it that tells the Strider that it is destructable, and the Strider can choose to attempt to destroy it.

However, most of the 2003 bink demos may have been scripted to give an example of what the end AI would be capable of, and to show exactly the sorts of stuff VALVe wanted to demonstrate (avoiding the problem of too many "takes").

When the strider blows up the building valve said that wasnt scripted. The reason the strider blew up the building was because it was the only way to pass. If there was a 2nd passage the building would have had a 50/50 chance of being blown up.

2) Probably.

4) That part of the building was physically breakable and wasn't scripted.
