a question about downloading on steam

:sniper: I have downloaded ricochet and it doesn't work cos i can open it but the screen goes black. if i go to properties for it it ses only 7% is aquired even tho i downloaded it. i noticed this only goes up if i leave it on "update automatically". do i need to leave it automaticaally updating to get it to work?

yes. Wait until it reaches 100% downloaded before trying to launch it; if you don't, the behavior is undefined.

Then dont download richochet. Seriously, you're not missing anything. It sucks.

The behaviour is very much defined if the game content is not 100% acquired.

If it lets you launch the game, then it should have downloaded enough content to get into the splash screen. If you then launch a game, it should start downloading the content required for whatever map you're loading, and give you a progress bar with "Updating steam resources".

If the game just refuses to work at all, then something else is going on.
