activating counter-strike

trying to install halflife2 with the 5 disks. after i install steam and the 5 disks it asks for a product key. after i put in the key it asks for source CD. is the source CD different then the 5 disks? because it wont let me go any furthur. can any1 help?

iirc, the source disk is disk 5.

If not, you're better downloading it from steam.

Van_H, can you explain 'downloading from Steam'? Is that a paid download? I have the disc set and key but the 'source cd' whether I insert 1 or 5 doesn't work.....????

Enter the CD key on steam. Where it says "Activate a Product on Steam" you click, and a screen should pop up, prompting for a CD key, enter your key, and it should allow you to download the game off of steam without a disk.

Note, before you can enter your CD key you have to agree to the terms of use and whatnot.

And just to make sure you know... Steam is ValvE's online content delivery system. All ValvE games run through it at some point.
