I know this is a little redundant, but I wanted to see what everyone's take on the whole Administrator / G-Man thing is.

It's Munro.

On a slightly more serious note, though, there just isn't enough information to back up any speculation, so I haven't really formed an oppinion. I'm leaning towards the Admin. being more than just a head scientist (ie involved with the G-man somehow) but 1) it's possible that this isn't the case, and 2) who works for who is anyone's guess at the moment.

Edit: Three days with only 2-3 hours of sleep (total) is really getting to me lol... did I think I was being funny when I wrote this post? I don't even know anymore. I'm going to hang up now. trgf (*hits head on keyboard... I actually did, too, you know)

Umm... i thought every knew that the G-man WAS the administrator?

A lot of people made that assumption, but a recent interview with the writer behind HL and HL2 confirmed that they are in fact two completely separate characters.

Fair enough. I'll just e-mail Valve and ask them to change it for you.

Ah so THERE'S the reason for any delays.

Gabe: "WOAH!! Stop everything! We've just got news Weisapie doesn't like the stroy! Aw crap... LAIDLAW!!!"
Marc: "What d'you MEAN he doesn't like it!? We... Oh Jesus. Back to square one I guess."
Gabe: "Alright back to work people. We're over-hauling the whole thing. Just like last time. We'll be done by September 30th2004 just like that ingenious psychic Fragmaster said..."
<Fanboys everywhere spontaneously combust, implode or generally have vital organs rupture.>

Personally I assumed that the G-Man was the Administrator, but looks as if we'll finally meet... "his employers".
Things could get real crap right about now.

lol

As for things having the potential to get real crap, I tend to think the story will be great. Laidlaw's interview really reassured me of that. It seems they've contentrated a lot on fine tuning the exposition of the storyline to the player. Not only that, but with five years to work on, and fine-tune the storyline, how could they possibly mess it up? (especially considering how well they did on HL1)

I think he is like the administrator of the hospital on Monty Python's Meaning of Life.

All true, but the amount of time doesn't mean they won't screw it up... <coughs>Matrix<coughs>
But like you, I tend to think it'll be just dandy. I just don't wanna be sitting there, listening to the G-Man explain things and for me to suddenly groan in despair.

OT:

so you though the first matrix was good and the second one sucked horribly?

good to know im not alone.

The second one definately didn't work as well as a film as the first did, but I found it interesting, so I enjoyed it. I think it will fit nicely into the trilogy when all three movies can be watched in context with each other.

Already a few topics about this, so I'm closing.
