was there an alternate ending to hl1 im hearing somethinh about this but no details

no, at the end you could either go with the gman, or you were teleported to a room full of monsters with no guns...it fades to black

edit: didnt fully read your question (thought you ewere on about hl2)

PLEASE people. PLEASE. You could find this answer almost ANYWHERE.

WHY MAKE AN ENTIRELY NEW THREAD ABOUT IT??

And besides, this doesn't even have anything to do with HL2!

:hmph:

@ Switch: He is talking about HL1. Read more carefully. And the story is not ENTIRELY linear. You do reach some forks in the roads. (But I think they all end up in the same place anyway)

No - The choice at the end of HL1 was simple - Work for the G-man or Die!
I do really hope all these fools that are asking for stories to HL1 WILL actually play the damn game - fair enough took me like 2 years to complete (couldnt be bothered with it 1st time and 2nd time i tried was 10 months later when bored..)
Even today - Half-Life is one of the most compelling and gripping games that really made ME feel like I was gordon freeman...

The only game i've played that came anywhere nr close was Call Of Duty....

Its nothing to do with the fancy graphics or the bump-arse-mapshading-pixel-polyurine.... its the ability the first one had to encapsulate the player in the game - that I REALLY want to see in the second.

Its also so easy to see the children and the adults in forums like these - too many of you involving your time bitching with each other - involving yourself with rumours and building up hopes that never exist - I'm too busy preparing to get involved - preparing meaning - buying in munchies, pot noodles and sh** loads of juice....AND A LOCK FOR MY DOOR.... my dad has been told (I'm 21 before you lot wonder) that I will not be heard or seen for the upcoming months - I will be Locked in my room and probably involved in one of the defining moments of PC gaming history

(Or I could be spamming the forums crying @ VALVe for screwing up hl2 big time....)

So I suggest you go to your local supermarkets people - and stock up well.... HL2 is coming, and when it does......

ROFL

Sigged!

And yes I agree. But the graphics have to be OKAY. In other words, I should be able to tell what something is.

Oh yes what I meant was that half-life 1 was remembered not mainly for its graphics - at the time the graphics were good but the defining factor of the game was the intense storyline...

Is anyone going to do Half Life:Source before being tempted to play HL2. The thought actaully did occur to me this afternoon, that I may well do it all again to refresh myself on the proper story line and see what comes of it....
