Wikipedia and some other sites claim Alyx calls Gordon "boyfriend" at a certain point in the game.

However, I've played through the whole thing and didn't hear it.

I scanned the half-life 2 episode two english.gcf file, under vo\npc\alyx and all the outland folders, but found nothing.

Is it really true? Anyone knows the file name?

It just really piques my curiosity.

Thanks.

When you go to destroy the automated gun in the scrapyard, just after you leave there's a rebel who asks Alyx, "So, uh, is that your boyfriend?". That's probably what they mean.

Naw, this is what it says here: "Alyx can sometimes (depending on the player's actions) be heard calling out "Hey, boyfriend!" to get Gordon's attention (this is an apparent reference to earlier in the chapter when an NPC can be overheard asking Alyx if Gordon is her boyfriend)."

I found the rebel sound file, alright. Thanks anyway.

I've scanned every Alyx sound file and she never says that. Plus Gordon is not her boyfriend anyway. If she does say that then i'm sure she is joking.

Oh, it's definitely a joke. And actually, when you think about it, her joking around about that is actually not good for the Gordon/Alyx pairing. After all, it means she finds the idea of Gordon being her boyfriend funny.

Or perhaps she joking about it to mask her true feelings for you:naughty:

Hmm.. I remember the "Is that your boyfriend" line, but I do not remember the "Hey, Boyfriend!" line. This is pretty interesting.

Yes, I also remember the "Is that your boyfriend line", though I could barely hear it at the time, but I also never heard her say, "Hey, Boyfriend!". I personally don't think it's actually part of the game, but rather a rumor. Besides, Valve has worked rather hard to make others imply that there's something going on but never have Alyx be overtly flirtatious.

I'm pretty sure they implied that something is going on, but not necessarily anything big. For instance, I'm fairly confident that they're implying that she has a crush on him, or something to that effect. In no way do I believe that they're implying some sort of history between our lovable mute and Alyx. There have been a few times, however, where she has been a bit overly flirtatious. For example, when she said "room in there for two" when there was the mucky water somewhere in one of the basements. That, I figure, would lead one to assume that she wants in his HEVsuit, if you catch my drift.

After you destroy the automated guns in the scrap yard, Alyx says "Hey Gordon" not "Hey Boyfriend". Alyx fans hear what they want to hear though it would seem.

Line does not compute...

She doesn't say it... ive played it enough times and if it was true, we'd hear about it all the time. Plus, that would be a really poor choice of the writing staff to make that, even if it is just a joke...

Yes.
Believe in Wikipedia.
Wikipedia is your god.
He is her boyfriend indeed.
She states it every time I play the game.
He is her boyfriend for ever.

Only Darkside can do it, ffs.

Yes, I'm on the Dark Side of the Moon and you must listen.

"Hey Gordon" sounds pretty similar to "Hey boyfriend". Someone may have misheard and put it up.

I heard once that if you dick around for long enough after destroying the gun instead of going back to the car she says it.
