You may remember in Half Life 2 Gordon's suit gets...upgraded to say the least. Is Aftermath gonna take this in effect or is there gonna be some cheesy explanation as to why his health and armor can't go above 100?

"G-Man did it!"

It may also draw its power from the citadel like the gravity gun did to become "uber." Therefore there is a good chance we won't get the uber armor.

No, that thingy zapped him and the gun and thats what made them uber. I mean, drawing power from the Citadel...thats the exact cheesy explanation I'm talking about.

Maybe, you all those rocks and on you and you fall n shit n all that, it hits the gravity gun and your suit...and well... you get the point.

And whoever says you start with the gravity gun? If gman dosn't take you out of time and you do fly all over and you fall and have rocks covered on you and shit im pretty sure you might not have ur super duper gravity gun. Or maybe they get zapped again, or hurt from the explosion.

Maybe you find another gravity gun! lol. who knows, we can speculate till it comes out, lets just wait till it's released.

I can understand losing the Gravity Gun and finding it near the end. That's understandable. I'm sure Gordon lost all his guns in the explosion. But his suit...unless he loses his suit...well I don't even know.

are you talking about how it goes to 200 when youre in the citadel but not anywhere else? i always thought that it's because the citadel is just equipped with more powerful suit chargers.

I'm pretty certain it draws its power from the Citadel. That in my opinion is not a cheesy explanation. It'd make sense. *Shrugs*

I think you should draw your attention more to the game :upstare:

Once the Weapon Stripper hit the gravity gun, and since the Weapon Stripper uses the same Zero Point Energy Manipulation to confiscate weaponry (hence the fact that your weapons float during the confiscation process), only stronger or in someway different, it made our default gravity gun into an uber one as you call it. I also think that the Gravity Gun could've become so powerful because of Antimatter, which probably conflicted with the Zero Point Energy.

The confiscation field is there to strip weaponry, whether the person inside the confiscation field area is hostile, or friendly. Not to confiscate him as well. What I'm getting at is, that Gordon wasn't zapped. Like Gabriel said, the suit could hold 200 because of enhanced Combine power outlets, i.e. suit chargers. Such powerful power outlets could only be found in the Citadel.

I'd say you will start off without any grav gun and then get a new one with a new skin(just to show it's a different one) and then we'll all be happy.

Wow. 8 months. I can't stand a week without HL2. :x

I envy you.

WAIT WHO EVER SAID WHO SUIT WAS NOT SUPER STILL?

The video never shows your health or anything?

Maybe it still is Uber.....
Ever thought of that?
We have never seen his health, ammo, or anything like that at all so far.
Maybe you fight a shit load of tougher things in the game, and since you have a uber suit it balances out.....

Or maybe you get captuered by the combine after dog finds you somehow, and they take your suit and then you get a older suit from the team or something..

I definately think his suit was "uber" from the enhanced Combine outlets, and he'll just find normal ones once he gets out of the citidel. More and tougher creatures or not, I would still like Aftermath to have Gordon as he's always been.

When Gordon used the Citadel combine outlets, it healed him as well as boosting the
suits power. That's another indication that something about being in that situation
made the suit better, and opens the possibility that the suit could go back to
"normal" after leaving the Citadel.

Or they do keep the super suit working, but require more power from the combine
units in the outside world to charge it up past 100.

I would still like Aftermath to have Gordon as he's always been.
I do to, i'm just trying to get immunity to shut up :) lol.

Wrong. The HEV suit always has been the same. Read my earlier post more carefully...

The HEV suit isn't and wasn't uber. It was combine power outlets which were more powerful, however they can be found only in the Citadel.

I made only a couple of posts in this thread, Minerel, and explained the man the HEV suit uberness issue. What's up with you?

Problem with the it's only the outlets arguement. During the fight in the citadel the suit nolonger charges from batteries(from destroyed scanners).

...Because they dissolve quickly, if I remember correctly. Every pick-up in the Citadel dissolves, that's a script.

No the batteries didn't, I remember picking one up and shooting it at an elite.

Da mixed you up with DeusEx, anyway I just wanted him to shut up.

Anyway,

The super suit and super-gravity-gun won't be carried forward. You know why? BECAUSE THEY UNBALANCE THE GAME AND MAKE IT TOO EASY!

If you want them in so bad, just turn god mode on. Similar effect.

If the Uber-Citadel outlets aren't the case (and tbh, that would create problems for the first bit of Aftermath, where you'd be getting 200 Power), the effect has probably just worn off and the suit / grav gun are back to normal.
