Yes yes, I know Headcrab Pie already submitted a fake Scout update thing, but could you make room for one more? I know the weapons aren't the best, since I rushed those a bit. Anyway, I hope you like it. Or at least, some part of it...

Here it is.

That's pretty alright. Doesn't seem very Valve-ish, to be honest. They wouldn't say 'sorry, no new maps'. Nice presentation.

That is the second best we've seen.

Only falling behind the Spy which was plain badass

I don't think the hand me downs achievment is possible.

All these fake updates are meh. Most of the ideas are meh and the only one that was well was the Spy one.

I think he meant get fifteen one-hit kills.

Bit of an annoying, cheap way out...

'Theres no new maps'
Thats like Valve saying. Episode 3 no longer exists bitches!!! *Gabe flys away on a magic carpet with Money bags beside him*

They pick community maps when they are not ready to release theirs, anyway.

These fake class updates are getting worse by the day. They're not good at all anymore.

Actually, I think they're getting better. There was the original, nicely done Spy one, then there was absolutely horrible Sniper, really bad Scout, and now sub-par Scout.

The achievement and weapon ideas for every fake class update are equally useless or dumb.

Damn, can you at least give me a reach around? This is the first super in-depth photoshop image I've done. Yes, fake updates aren't as easy to make as some might think.

It's funny really when people post a thread about a fake update, because there's always at least one poster that acts like Valve is gonna actually use these ideas. I find it sad when posters get all mad and frustrated at an image, and I'm not directing that to Stigmata, I mean just period.

Edit: Despite what others think, I kind of liked the Sniper one, except for the weapons, and the lazy achievement icon usage.

I quite like the bat idea of holding it to charge a bigger hit, but the colors would deviate from TF2s color scheme, what would be better, is if it used somthing similar to the Ubersaw with a rising meter in ur teams color, or if it crackled and vibrated kinda like the airhammer in UT.

I've never seen the Spy one, how good is it?

The fake revolver replacement was crap, and that's all i can really remember since it really caught my eye. It did extra damage from behind and was near useless since most people use the revolver while running away.

It's not a personal dig at anyone, I just don't think the fake class updates have been as good as the first one, and that's the only one I liked.

Good enough to momentarily fool some Valve employees.

It's not meant to be used like the revolver just because it replaces it. (Try using the Sandvich like a Shotgun!) It leaves you without an escape weapon, but lets you "backsnipe" people who are crossing an open area, like the 2fort bridge, or the distance between BLU spawn and the cart in the later stages of a payload map.

Well, is there any fake update for a class people want to see? Or is everyone sick of 'em already?

Edit: I was gonna make an update for a class that didn't exist, but...

Soldier.

My brother actually thought of a pretty good update for a scout which helps him engage in the activity he's supposed to be best at: crits on captures. It would have to be altered slightly to reduce the power, say crits every other 5 seconds or something, but it's certainly better than being on a cap and having nothing to defend it with while you're trying to cap it. Sure, your speed might be ok against a rocket you see coming, but when there's a Natascha to face, a Sentry to face or a horde of enemies coming at you, it'd be useful to be able to actually want to risk your life taking the point.

That's a pretty good idea druckles. Would it apply for holding the intel?

Yeah. Unfortunately if set crits for the first x seconds you were holding the intel, people would simply drop it and pick it up again. I think a pistol which did it rather than a scattergun would be much more effective. It wouldn't be too overpowered, and would still provide the extra firepower required for the cap.
