Beth Ann Chester, a 26-year-old health and physical education teacher at Moon Area High School in suburban Pittsburgh, was arrested Friday and charged with child sexual abuse, statutory sexual assault and related counts, authorities said.

Police said the married Chester had sent the boy three pictures of herself, two of them naked, by cell phone on Dec. 22, and the boy replied with a naked picture of himself.

It really is unbelievable. I dont understand why people think a 14 year old boy is more capable of making the right decisions in this case than a 14 year old girl. This is disgusting and she should be treated like any other pedophile, unfortunately she'll get special treatment with very little jail time (if any).

But it really isn't just joking its serious. Most of these women get off with a slap on the wrist. There are plenty of cases where little girls develop crushes on their male teachers, if that male teacher does anything even close to inappropriate he gets burned for it, rightfully so. That is not the case when the gender roles are reversed.

They might be, but society as a whole usually isn't. And again, you dont see any of these "jokes" when the gender is reversed.
 
Theres obviously a double standard. A boy wont be considered a whore the rest of his life if word gets out. Also, a boy we can assume is stronger than a girl of the same age and is therefore less likely to be in a position of being abused physically. Its more of a confidence builder than breaker than it would be for a girl.

Maybe it's because women as a whole suffer more in this world when it comes to being sexually taken advantage of than men. I don't mean they suffer more, I mean it happens more often. The male gender isn't really seen as often as being in the position of being abused, compared to the female gender.

it was consentual ..in fact most of these cases are concentual ..even for girls ..teachers dont rape students and no one finds out about it, this was a relationship (at least in their minds)

14 year old boys can be just as emotional as 14 year old girls ..whether they're physically capable of defending themselves or not isnt the point

I have to say, having been 14 myself 5 years ago ... I don't think I would have been irreparably damaged by sex with an attractive teacher. In fact it might have been a very positive experience.

I agree with what you say, but I'd class it more as statutory rape rather than pedophilia, a 14 year old is sexually aware (if not active) where as a 6 year old (for example) isn't.
