Anyone played Grim Fandango?

One of my fave games is Grim Fandango from Lucasarts. Has anyone played it?

I think you'll find a hugely positive response to this thread. I know quite a few people here LOVE it. Me included.

Mainly for the style and the story, less the gameplay and controls which I think are...quite poor. Personally I would have preferred just all out point and click and the occasional more obvious puzzle.

Hehe, when I saw the thread title I imediatly thought "This guy obviously hasn't been here very long". I and alot of other members really love that game. It's also the only puzzle adventure game that I didn't use a walkthrough for (Though I was stuck on certain puzzles for several days)

I have to confes I used a walkthrough for a lot of it (terrible, I know ) but the amount of times I've played the game have payed off: I've written a walkthrough and had it published on www.grim-fandango.com. You can find it on the hints page!

Nah, puzzle games are bastards. I used a walkthrough for Monkey Island alot.

It is on my list of games to play. I just recently beat Sam & Max: Hit the Road...Playing through Day of the Tentacle now. I'll get around to Grim eventually.

Started it, but I got stuck, I don't know what I'm meant to do next. I'm only at the start of the game, I've got into the bosses office by climbing up and through the window, but I don't know what to do next. Not really all that bothered about it either..

Definantly a Schafer sort of game. Natural ancestor of Psychonauts... try that, as well.

If I remember correctly, aren't you supposed to... uh... get something from the bosse's office? Change the message or something.

What does everyone think the hardest puzzle is? I think the fork-lift truck in the elevator waspretty hard. It took me ages to realise that you needthe patch for that bit! I've also been stuck on that conveyer belt in year three a few times!
