anyone tried to use supressor at the nexus top

during the top of nexus battle, this guy said missed the opportunity to use the suppressor device. Anyone has used it successully?
It is the the device toward the left of the building top, you encounter after defeating 3 combine and 1 overwatch from dropship and it has a knob similar to repellent device.

No you can't use it. The whole object was to disable it, which you do by destroying the generators. When you finally get to the roof where the Suppressor is, you have already disabled it.

okay then, i guess it is reasonable assumption that the 3 energy source below cut off the power supply to that thing. I thought at least there mya be some cheats and tricks to reenabling them.

Nah sorry no cheats or tricks to enable it. It's simply not programmed in because there was no need to, since you not supposed to use it.
