I just starting using temporal aa 4x, and its pretty much the same when i played with normal 4x aa. Can anyone tell me if it truly works and helps to speed up the performance?

It only works on ATI cards. Basicly switches between different patterns to give the impression of higher level AA yet without the performance hit.footsteps said:I've heard quite a bit of this temporal AA. Is there a setting for it in HL2 or do I have to force it at the driver level?

Therefore you get a framerate boost. The way you guys are describing it, you wouldn't get a performance benefit over regular 2x AA. But you DO get a benefit.
