I have just been notifyed by my bank that someone attempted to use my debit card. The transaction was blocked and the card is now cancelled, so no probs there, but I would like to see what information I can dig up. If I can hand the police enough info, they might be able to track down whoever did this, but they are unlikley to do anything unless I can give them a decent lead to start with.

So, why post this here?
Well, the bank informs me that the transaction attempt took place at "tbone steakhouse", Mason, HI. Now, I would like to talk to the owner and see what, if any address information they entered when they attempted to order, but there are some problems:
1/. I can't find a listing for tbone steakhouse
2/. Everything I have seen indicates that there is no town called Mason in Hawii
3/. tbone steakhouse is apparently a tent and awning shop (acorrding to my bank)

So, what I am hoping is that someone here may be able to shed some light? Maybe I have Mason misspelled? Maybe you know the shop? Maybe I'm barking at the moon? I have double checked the info with the bank, so I have listed exactly what they have.

Anyone have any ideas what this place might be?

I'm from the UK BTW, so this was prob an internet or phone order. The bank points out, this was prob a "test" transation, as it was for a small amount.

SRSLY though, it very may well be a tent/awning business that's family owned and operated. There are a shitload of businesses here like that.

And yeah, you prolly misspelled Mason or sommat, because i've never heard of a town called Mason. Most mail adresses on Oahu are listed as "Honolulu" anyway, despite the town, as Honolulu is the official county for most of the island.

Probably just a fake company set up to take lots of money (without raising suspicion) ... You can pretty much do anything you want from anywhere you want if you have the right scripts. I doubt the person responsible has ever been to Hawaii in his life.

I suspect your card details were collected off a keylogger or infected transaction server, and then charged (along with a few hundered other cards) at this fake company, in the hopes that some of the transactions would actually be verified. I bet it probably worked, too. Online fraud usually favours the crooks and not the victims.
