So around... February i got a graphics card from ATI and it came with Half life 2 for free. I just had to send stuff in the mail. Does anyone know if i'll get the game the day it comes out, or alittle after?

i did the same, but did you ever get any confirmation from ATI? i sent the stuff in almost 6-8 months ago and I still haven't heard from them about it. i guess i should call them, but i think im fuxored....

You can upgrade your package so you can download through Steam.

how do you register the code?

You create a steam account and when it asks you to input a key for a game you already own, you put in the ATI Voucher code.

i already have a stam account, but i can't find any place to put in my activation code.

do i need to pre-load Half-Life 2 first? do i need to make a new account?

Umm i have that voucher as well, but i havent sent it yet. I want to play hl2 on the 16th, so I will either use it for steam, or send off for the copy of Hl2, and just buy HL2 on the 16th. Then when i receive my free copy, i will sell it on ebay.

Right click steam icon (the one in taskbar)
choose "Browse games"
new screen pops up, below there is a button
"Register a product i already own..."
click it and enter your ATI coupon code
click next

preload HL² and CS Source

play hl² on the 16th

the major factor that made me jsut d/l off of steam was that i found out, the copy of HL2 you get from ATI is ONLY hl2, nothing else, no CSS. Its one disk, in a crappy envelope. No manual or even a quick-reference guide. Whereas, if you use steam to redeem the ATI coupon, you get a free bronze version (CSS + HL2) and no shipping and handling.

I'm not an idiot...ATI just doesn't make it very obvious on what to do exatcly.
