banned from CS:S

hey, i was wondering if this happened to anyone else...
I just got banned from my steam account for cheating. I really was pissed about that cause i didnt really cheat, but that is another story. Okay, so I had to make a new steam account, then I had to re-buy counter strike source. I go to settings, and it says "VAC status: in good standing.". My banned account says "VAC status: You have been banned blah blah blah". So when I try to join a CS:S server with this new account it still says I can't join secure servers! And I dont want to buy the game again because the same thing will probably happen. Also, I do NOT have any cheats on my computer.

sounds like ip ban to me just change your ip and viola it might fix the problem

email them about the problem, if you didnt cheat in the first place then they should unban your original account....it wasn't necessary for you to buy the game again unless.....

you probably still have hacks on your computer, might have to format if you forgot where you put them or don't know how to remove them.

if you're banned from vac, emailing them is pretty much pointless.

I was banned for 5 minutes once. I've never cheated (in source that is ) and all of a sudden I was banned in source for nothing. Couple of minutes latter I was unbanned and have been playing ever since, it was wierd.

I got banned by a big online system once (AOCAB- more than 1000 servers participating I think), but it was an accident (apparently, AOCAB uses some kind of dumbass system that bans based on what nick you're using)

Anyways, if you were banned by VAC, then chances are that you were 100% cheating

No idea... maybe it was the hl2.net tag I was using, or the non-standard brackets around it... no idea..
Any hack could code a better system than what they were using, it was utterly moronic.

It's a shame you were unbanned.

At least you wasted your money on a second copy of the game, but I would still have prefered you stay banned.

Oh well. So long as you don't do it again, I guess the world can forgive you

Ask your ISP to change it. You might have to make up something about people trying to hack you or something, but they will change it.
