Hi All,

I happened by Barns & Noble while I was out to lunch today.

A short talk to an employee and a quick check in the computer showed that the Nov. 2004 (Quake IV issue) was put on shelves on 9/17.

The U.K. version was put on shelves on 10/01. The employee could not determine of the U.K. version was the Nov. or Dec. issue but given the fact that the other U.S. Nov. issues are still on shelf, this is most likely the case.

As far as the Dec. issue is concerned, they didn't expect arrival until at least the 14th of Oct. through the 19th. So we might still be a couple weeks out before seeing the PC Gamer U.S. edition on shelves.

Hopefully the U.S. subscribers will be getting theirs this week or early next week :)

yeah, aren't most pc gamer us mags supposed to be on shelves on the 18th?

So much for the 'world exclusive'

That was my common understanding as well but I thought I'd post this since we've seen some "fake" posts and speculation on U.S. subscribers getting their issues a little bit earlier (some were claiming to have them in hand over this past weekend but alas, such claims were quickly put into submission  )

Thanks for the info VoodooMinigeek, I really appreciate it.

Yeah - I think they had to delay since it would be a stupid move to ship two issues consecutively. Subscribers are still, uptill this day getting the Quake VI issue - so the HL2 review one is far off...

Thats what weirded me out when they said it will be out this week. I always get mine about a few days early around 17-19. But Pc gamer US have 13 issues a year. One is called the holiday issue. They realease that one after the dec. issue so thats why i was thinking maybe we should get it real early like today or next few days. I get my mail in about 2-3 hours. I will post if it comes.

I think that it's easy to say "WE HAVE THE WORLD EXCLUSIVE", because technically, maybe they did. It's also fairly easy to say, "Oh, our publisher messed us up." or "We decided to delay the issue in the interest of assuring that our subscribers get their magazines at regular intervals - we did have the exclusive, though!"

I don't understand why they release their Nov/Dec issues (lol issues) in October. Wouldn't it be easier just to call that issue for the October issue so confusion (like this post) doesn't rise.

They can rename it to "US Exclusive", still.

Subscribers are reciving this motnhes issue, fot the most part, this week. Almost all monthly magazine are available at newstands no earlier than the middle of the month. That's just how the planning goes...

They normally have special issues at the end of the year, typically a Ultimate Strategy Blowout and a Holiday Issue.

Quake 4, you get my point. I suck at Roman numerals. :P

I just got my mail and no Pc gamer. :/

Generally, magazines' dates are like an expiration date. So it says "December" meaning it comes out in November and should be removed in December. Of course, some game magazines have managed to get a month ahead of THAT.

Pc Gamer US gives its mags a whole months early. For example You get the Dec. issue in Oct.
