Me and my friend are trying to play Half Life 2 Deathmatch over Battle Lan (which is a program you can use to play LAN games over the internet). But when one of use creates the game the other can never see it under the lan games tab. For Battle Lan we have ports 7890 and 20000, each TCP, open. We don't have any ports open for Half Life 2. We can both play on regular servers fine. We are also both behind routers with built in firewalls. Is there anyone that uses this program that knows what we are doing wrong? Do we have the wrong ports open? Is there a better program we could be using instead of Battle Lan? Oh, and we have used Battle Lan before for Worms World Party, so we know how to use it, but that was along time ago and there is not much information on this program anymore.

Thanks for any help.

Why doesn't one of you just create an internet server?

If you want it to be private, just give it a password.

hmm this could be a routing Problem server sided.. The Ports commonly has to be forwarded from router hardware to the server... Try slist in the CON to see the details of the DM-Server
(ie ports etc)
dunno else
