BIG discovery by moi

I've found my second thing that i havent seen before in the vids!

(first was the "squad:following" thing which many ppl didnt see )

This shows up a sort of loading thing, what can it be? i wondered. I first saw it on this screen shot below, just before the rocket/crain guy (yeah u know ).
After further viewing, i found it happens at a few points during the e3-2004 vid.

- A few times around that point ^
- The strider bit
- At the point where he uses physics to push the buggy back on the road (after that in buildings area)

It's my guestimate that ;

1) The text says "AUX POWER" (aux being auxiliary aka back-up/spare)
2) The actual USE for it is a sort of stamina bar, as you see most clearly in the strider part of the vid. (runs between the 2 cars). But if you check other points where it does it, it does look like he's moving faster .
I'm guessing the HEV suit 'helps' the person move faster when you active it, and so has limited regenerative-power.

I've shown on the screenshot that i believe it says "AUX POWER" although at other points it might say other things (cant make my mind up)

In Natural Selection when you join a server sometimes the little boxes stack ontop of eachother, probably just a glitch.

Aux is used to sprint, or atleast it was in the leaked version I didn't have.

Yep, if you notice, Gordon uses the AUX Power at the docks (I think...the part where he throws back the 'nade with the Manipulator) he sprints quickly to the crane, if my memory still works.

Sprinting, is useing a quick short bust of speed to get where to want to go. (Running) Aux power has to do with his suit, maybe giving him a faster sprint then without it?>

AUX Power is definitely some back-up reserve power Gordon has in his suit which enables his suit to move faster. I believe using your AUX Power makes you sprint, they just wanted a fancy HL2-ish name for it.

This makes a lot of sense. If you think about it, Gordon is under a heavy load. Not only are there all of his weapons, there's a heavy suit of full-body armor he's got to lug around. Presumably its made of ceramics or plastics to minimize the weight, but without some help he's going to be slowed down.

Anticipating this, the HEV suit's designers may have built some musculature into the suit itself, drawing upon some sort of power source (maybe nuclear? ala the radioactive power sources for the gluon gun and gauss cannon) to help Gordon move around at a normal rate. Giving these circuits more power from some sort of capacitor resevoir (crap, I know I spelled that wrong :/) would make them react more quickly and/or with more force, letting him run faster.

Blah blah blah goes Maui...I need a better hobby. :/

I dont know if ive seen the 2004 video, is it the one with Gabe, and the halflife2 video, then the css bit in de_Aztec? thats quite old now so im guessing thats not the e32004 video? can someone link me to it if im wrong? please!

another thing that most people didnt notice

on the part on e3 2004 video at the part with the crane

when he runs up the ramp and kills a combine with the shotgun, notice 2 shotgun shells came out and the ammo went down from 6 to 4

looks like double shot is also back
